Arrival Day: Pickup At the Airport - Nairobi

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by the Kili WorldBorn Safaris team and transferred to your carefully selected hotel in Nairobi. Our representative will ensure a smooth and comfortable journey, allowing you to relax after your flight and settle in as you begin your Tanzanian adventure.

At the hotel, you will meet your professional safari guide, who will provide a detailed briefing about your upcoming safari. You will receive all essential information regarding your itinerary, destinations, accommodation, and daily schedules, as well as useful travel tips. Day 1: Nairobi – Chogoria Town

Pick up from your Nairobi hotel at 8:00 AM and drive north to Chogoria town. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon leisure walk around the town for acclimatization.

Day 2: Chogoria – Mount Meru Bandas

After breakfast, take a 4x4 vehicle to the forest clearance (16km), where the trek begins. Hike through forest terrain along a dirt road, which may be muddy at times, for approximately 4 hours to reach Mount Meru Bandas.

Day 3: Mount Meru Bandas – Road Head Camp

After breakfast, follow the track through giant heather and forest zones up to Chogoria Road Head. From here, descend slightly to cross a stream and continue along the broad ridge east of the Gorges Valley to reach Road Head Camp.

Distance: 9km | Hiking Time: 3–4 hrs | Ascent: 350m

Day 4: Road Head Camp – Mintos Hut

After breakfast, continue trekking through giant heather and alpine terrain along the ridge above the Gorges Valley. The trail leads to Mintos Hut, one of the most scenic camps on Mount Kenya with dramatic cliff and valley views.

Day 5: Mintos Hut – Point Lenana – Met Station

Depart at around 2:00 AM for the summit attempt. After approximately one hour, pass the Temple Fields and continue toward Point Lenana, arriving at sunrise around 6:30 AM. After photos and celebration, descend to Mackinder’s Camp for breakfast, then continue down to Met Station for dinner and overnight rest.
